A Wedding Photographer’s Guide to One of the Best Wedding Venues in College Station:

The Weinberg at Wixon Valley

Looking for a wedding venue in College Station with space for a big celebration and real character? The Weinberg at Wixon Valley, with its warmth and gorgeous grounds, is one of the best wedding venues in College Station! Located just a short drive from College Station, The Weinberg is conveniently located for out-of-town guests traveling from Houston to Dallas. As a result, it can feel like a destination wedding, but without the flights! As a Houston Wedding Photographer, I love traveling out to College Station for a change of scenery and breath of fresh air.

Venue quick facts:

  • Location: 7786 Kurten Cemetery Road, Bryan, TX, near College Station
  • Guest capacity: up to 450
  • Ceremony options: outdoor grounds or indoor chapel

A winter wedding at the weinberg at wixon valley

T&R’s elegant winter ceremony and reception with deep greens and a distinct Texas flair was so much fun to capture! T&R chose to have an outdoor ceremony, and January rewarded them with warm, dramatic light. Quick fact: during the winter time, the sun sits lower on the horizon, which affects the quality and angle of light! I’ll never forget the groom’s face as his bride walked down the aisle. It was an emotional ceremony and some of our favorite images from the day are the reactions and emotions from T&R’s parents during the ceremony. I love capturing these candid moments the bride and groom may not get to see and experience on their wedding day.

what I love about the space (& some of the best photo spots)

  • Having both gorgeous grounds and a chapel means you have two great ceremony options in case plans need to change for the weather!
  • The Grand Hall has so many unique, thoughtful details from chandeliers, sliding barn doors, and gorgeous staircases. Photo spots galore!
  • Separate suites give the wedding party easy access places to get ready and accommodate the best wedding photography schedule
  • As a photographer, I’m drawn to water, so I love the pond and stone bridge for portraits.

Tips for a Wedding at The weinberg at wixon valley:

1. Plan Portraits Around the Sun
Winter daylight fades early and summer I’ll help you schedule portraits so we catch the best light without rushing your day.
2. Use the Long Rental Window
Fourteen hours on site leaves room for a relaxed timeline, with breathing space between moments.
3. Add Personal Details
A monogram, a marquee name, or a beloved pet gives your day personality and gives me wonderful moments to photograph.
