Big sky Barn wedding
Erin and John-Erik met when Erin was working with John-Erik’s childhood friend at Texas A & M. Years later family gathered at Erin’s family lake house where John-Erik proposed in front of both of their families at dinner! Afterwards they planned a beautiful August wedding at Big Sky Barn…but there was one large hiccup…
As any wedding approaches, we always check the weather to see if there are any storms or rain in the forecast. As Erin and John-Erik’s wedding day approached, we heard of looming storm system in the Gulf called Harvey. At first we weren’t too concerned about it. Sure we might get some rain on the wedding day, but we’ve encountered this before. We are always prepared to create great wedding photos – rain or shine!
Yet as Harvey approached the Texas coast with more ferocity, Erin and John-Erik had a difficult decision to make – should they cancel and reschedule their wedding? Although it was a difficult decision, they ended up making the right choice. They decided to postpone their wedding several weeks and let the storm pass. Though it was a few weeks later than planned, on a beautiful day in September, we were able to celebrate Erin and John Erik start to the next chapter of their lives!
Big Sky Barn, in Montgomery Texas, has a warm, hill country feel with reclaimed wood and a mixture of stone walls and accents. We loved how Erin and John-Erik incorporated their wedding colors with lovely purple draping and romantic centerpieces. Also each table contained small succulents with signs that said “Let Love Grow.” What a great favor and way for your guests to remember your wedding day! Also their dessert table was overflowing with a cornucopia of amazing cakes – YUM!
